It’s been an epic journey getting A Killer Christmas from the bare bones of the idea, through the notebook pages and laptop and out onto the virtual book shelves.
Late last year I was talking to my dad about The Christmas Novella I’d been working on. He looked at me through narrowed eyes and said ‘Oh, is that the one you’ve been talking about for three years?’. I was outraged. How dare he suggest that I’d been working on it for so long without making progress? So I went back to my writing diaries and found notes for the story… in the 2018 diary. (I later found some other notes from 2017 – sorry, Dad.)
The hard work on this began back in January, leaping through the hoop of my editor several times. It was very strange in the hot days of summer we had to be sitting in the garden under a sunshade writing about Santa, snow and freezing temperatures. But, the work has to be done. Then came the life-saving support of my proofreader, followed by the fantastic finishing touches of the formatter and cover designer.
There have been a LOT of rewrites, lots of blood, sweat, tears and glasses of wine, but it’s finally here!
It’s out now, available from most good retailers – more are being added all the time so the best place to get hold of it is here.
What to know what all the excitement is about? Read on…
A Killer Christmas
It’s Christmas in Allensbury, and the festivities are to die for…
When the curtains open on the Fenleys department store Christmas window display, there’s a shock in store.
A man lies dead amid the snow and reindeer, stabbed in the back. But who would murder mild-mannered, gentle Adrian Kendall?
Crime reporter Emma Fletcher is immediately on the case, determined to find the killer.
When a friend becomes the police’s prime suspect, she ploughs ahead with her investigation, desperate to find the truth whatever the cost.
Emma has to decide who has been naughty or nice before someone else gets hurt.
A Killer Christmas is a seasonal special and the next enthralling adventure in the Allensbury Mysteries crime series.
Don’t just take my word for it that it’s a great book:
‘An intriguing Allensbury Post mystery that had me turning the pages into the wee small hours‘ – Jane Isaac, author of the DCI Helen Lavery series
