Well, when I said in my previous post ‘Coming soon’, I didn’t realise that meant readers having to wait literally months for A Deadly Legend to be out there!

Unfortunately, as the Scots poet Robert Burns once said:  “The best-laid plans of mice and men / Often go awry” and moving house to be nearer to family became my priority for the summer. I was still working on Allensbury Mysteries number six up to a point, but with so much uncertainty, the launch of A Deadly Legend had to wait.

Now my move is complete, and the new house is starting to look like home, it’s time to get the book out there. Sitting with a completed book and unable to set a date because everything is up in the air is frustrating, so eventually I just had to choose a date. I did and it’s Saturday 22 November!

But what that means is here we are with just 12 days until launch and I’m in equal parts excited and nervous. I know people have enjoyed my previous four books, but it’s been a long time since A Deadly Portrayal came out (October 2023!) and hopefully all my lovely readers haven’t forgotten me!

Over the next two weeks, I’ll be more present here on the blog and also on social media running the ‘Twelve Days of Launchmas’ (see what I did there?) to celebrate the arrival of the newest Allensbury Mystery.

Expect to learn more about the book, my writing process and possibly get your hands on an Allensbury Post puzzle book! You can find out how I researched the book in an article earlier in the year.
